We did not deserve to lose – King
By Adam Summers

Monday 30th January 2012

BRENDON King felt his side did not get what they deserved at high-flying Oxford City on Saturday.

Weymouth went down 2-0 but more than held their own against a team that currently lie fourth in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division table, just six points off the summit with two games in hand.

King said: “Football can be a cruel game sometimes.

“There was no way we deserved to lose that match. I am not saying we deserved to win it because we did not create enough clear-cut chances but it was 50-50 for much of it.

“They may be fourth in the table now but there was not much difference between the two sides at all and I felt we deserved more.

“I was gutted for the boys afterwards but the important thing now is that we lift ourselves for tomorrow night when we will face another tough game at Stourbridge.”

The Terras have now lost their last four in all competitions in which they have conceded 15 goals and scored just one.

King added: “We have suffered a bit of a dip but if we carry on performing like we did at Oxford and start taking our chances we will be fine.”

Weymouth currently sit 15th in the table, four points above the drop-zone with two games in hand on six of the seven sides below them.
