Terras receive cup boost
By Adam Summers

Saturday 25th September 2010

THE Terras’ hopes of reaching the third qualifying round of the FA Cup and landing a guaranteed prize fund of £4,500 have received a boost with the news that Rob Wolleaston and Courtney Pitt will both play in this afternoon’s tie at Swindon Supermarine.

There were fears that Weymouth would have to do without the dynamic duo for the trip to the Webbs Wood Stadium but both players confirmed their availability yesterday to the delight of boss Ian Hutchinson.

“At one stage we were not sure whether they would be able to play or not,” said Hutchinson. “However, yesterday, they both confirmed their availability, which is fantastic news. They both possess that extra bit of quality and now we can go to Supermarine full of confidence.”

Unfortunately, the Terras will be without defender Sam Clarke, who is still struggling with the back injury he picked up in the victory over Taunton Town in the first qualifying round.

Hutchinson added: “Unfortunately, Sam is out. He is still feeling his back and we have got to make sure he is fully fit before he can return.”

The Marine are unbeaten in seven games but the Terras will take heart from last Saturday’s defeat against Zamaretto Premier Division leaders Cambridge City when they dominated for long periods and were incredibly unfortunate to lose 3-0.

Hutchinson said: “Everyone could see what both Rob and Courtney gave us last week and if we can tighten up at the back and reproduce that sort of performance we will have a good chance.”
