New signing Wolleaston can make
Terras tick

IAN Hutchinson has tipped new signing Rob Wolleaston to become
the heartbeat of his side after the midfielder
put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the Terras
until May 2012.
The 30-year-old was initially recruited on non-contract terms
but after making an impressive impact in his first fortnight
at the club, Weymouth have moved quickly to tie the ex-Chelsea
youth product down on a permanent deal.
Hutchinson has also decided to release Jules Emati-Emati
and Pierre Joseph-Dubois as he looks to ring the changes in
a bid to halt an alarming run of form, which has seen the
Terras suffer four defeats in their last five games.
The Weymouth boss told Echosport: To be able to get
a player of Robs quality on a permanent deal is fantastic
news for the club.
You only have to look back at his debut against Cambridge
City to see what he offers us. He has played at a higher level
and his experience and quality will help bring the best out
of the youngsters at the club.
The fact we have given him a two-year contract is unusual
and it wont happen with the rest of the squad.
He is just one of those few great assets that we felt
we needed to tie down, and although we do not want to put
any pressure on him, we see him becoming the heartbeat of
our side.
As for Jules, things have not quite worked out for
him here. He has shown glimpses of what he can do but unfortunately
it has not been enough. His chances have been limited and
we felt we had to let him go.
Financially things are tight and his departure will
free up a bit of money as will Pierres. Unfortunately,
we have not got pots of gold and have to cut our costs accordingly.
Also, the fact that some of the players live the other
side of the country and cannot make training is far from ideal.
Jules and Pierre are both good lads but this is a measure
we have had to take and we wish them both well with the rest
of their careers.
Having let two forwards move on, Hutchinson has indicated
that he is in the market for a new hitman. He added: Andy
and I are going to look at a player but at the moment we are
keeping it under wraps. There are a few options but as I said
money is tight and hopefully whoever we do bring in will hit
it off straight away and turn into a bit of a gem.
All this chopping and changing is not ideal but unfortunately
that is the way it is with us at the moment and people have
to appreciate that.
The stark reality in our current situation is that
we have to make sure we are getting full value for money and
that we have the right people on board to help the club move
forward.
