Hale: Work is proving a problem
By Adam Summers

Tuesday 7th September 2010

WORK commitments are proving a “stumbling block” in ex-player-boss Matty Hale’s proposed return to the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Ian Hutchinson, who replaced Hale in the Terras’ hot-seat following his resignation last October, is determined to land the experienced full-back but it appears the move will have to be put on hold.

Hale, who is the head of football at the university of Bath, told Echosport last night: “The biggest stumbling block I have is work based.

“As it stands, I have commitments with the under-19s on Saturday mornings, which gives me a problem getting anywhere on Saturday afternoons.

“I am also signed on for Yate Town and they have been good to me and very patient in regards to that problem.

“Once that is resolved and the situation changes then we might be able to do something but it might take a week or it might take five or six weeks.”

Meanwhile, Hutchinson is still waiting for a decision from another experienced target, which Echosport believes to be ex-Dorchester Town skipper Kevin Hill, who was released by the Magpies last week.

The Terras’ boss said: “I am hoping to hear something back later today. Hopefully it will be good news but we shall just have to wait and see. We just need a couple of players to knit everything together.”
