Clarke is hopeful of City return

Thursday 16th September 2010
MANAGER Ian Hutchinson is hopeful that Sam Clarke will be
fit to face Zamaretto Premier Division leaders Cambridge City
on Saturday.
Clarke had to be withdrawn during last weekends FA
Cup victory at Taunton, due to a back injury.
Although keen to have the defender at his disposal, Terras
boss Hutchinson insists he will not risk causing further damage
to the former Portland United man.
He said: Sams injury is not as bad as first feared.
The problem is in the lumbar region of his back and hopefully
hell be available for Saturday.
Well continue to assess him as the week goes
on and if there is any doubt then we will leave him out. But
hopefully he should be okay.
Meanwhile, serving members of the Armed Forces will gain
free entry for Saturdays clash at the Bob Lucas Stadium
(3pm).
They will also be able to enjoy a buffet and refreshments
from 1pm, while at half-time a bucket collection will be held
to raise money for Combat Stress, which provides support for
ex-service personnel suffering from psychological injuries
and mental health problems.
The initiatives are all part of the clubs Forces
Day.
Commercial manager Geoff Claridge said: This is the
clubs way of saying thank you to the Armed Forces. Hopefully
we will see a lot of serving men and women take up our invitation
and it would also be great to raise as much money as we can
for Combat Stress, which is a very worthy cause.
No prior arrangements need to be made and all serving
personnel need to do is come and see us at the clubs
main reception on the day.
* Weymouth Reserves beat Bridport 3-0 in a friendly at St
Marys Field on Tuesday night.
