Tough break for Terras star Beasley
By Adam Summers
JAMIE Beasleys torrid start to the season seems set to
continue after being diagnosed with a broken hand.
The Weymouth winger, who recently received a 35-day ban for
getting sent off in a five-a-side game, missed last nights
3-1 victory at Hamworthy United but is expected to be fit for
the opening game of the campaign against Cambridge City on August
13.
Terras boss Brendon King said: He did it against
Portland United and he has an appointment at the fracture clinic
tomorrow.
It is only a hairline fracture so it should not be anything
long term.
Ryan McKechnie, Ben Gerring and Warren Byerley were the men
on target at the County Ground.
King added: The pitch was hard and a bit bobbly, which
made it difficult, but you are not going to play on perfect
surfaces all the time so in that respect it was a good workout.
We were a bit predictable in the first half but in the
second we moved the ball better and created a lot more chances.
Ollie Tribe has become the latest player to agree terms with
the club, who will finish their pre-season campaign on Saturday
with a trip to Wimborne Town (3pm).
The Terras are due to receive £5,000 as part of a sell-on
clause for former Weymouth ace Anton Robinson.
The 25-year-old has left AFC Bournemouth and joined Huddersfield
Town for an undisclosed fee believed to have been in
the region of £250,000.
